At CSCH-OD we are focused on providing high quality education in clinical hypnosis in a friendly and collegial atmosphere. In order to provide this experience we realize that the educational seminars that we offer are only part of what is needed to fulfill this goal. When you join our society, you’ll have access to the following benefits:
In addition to these great features, you’ll find that our group as a whole is fun, approachable and committed to helping you become the best hypnotherapist you can be.
Full membership in CSCH-OD is open to health care professionals who are regulated by a College under the RHPA, the College of Social Workers or the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (or their equivalents in other provinces or states) and who have a minimum of a Masters degree. As an alternative, regulated applicants who are without a Masters degree may declare in writing that clinical hypnosis is within their scope of practice and that they have had at least 3 years of clinical experience following graduation. The latter applications will be evaluated on an individual basis by the Membership Committee. Intern and Resident membership is open to graduate students in programs leading to Doctoral degrees in Psychology, Social work or Nursing, or degrees in Medicine, Dentistry, or Chiropractic. Students are welcome to apply to attend our workshops and may then apply for Intern and Resident membership. (Students must submit a completed membership application form accompanied by evidence of current full-time status in their graduate programs; this must specify which course and school they are in and must either be signed by their supervisor or be on a standard form produced by their University.) Retired membership is open to members in good standing of CSCH-OD, who have retired from their profession and wish to remain active in the society.
A further requirement of Society membership is the completion of Introductory Training sponsored by CSCH-OD, by another ASCH Division, or any other hypnosis society acceptable to the Education Committee of CSCH-OD. Completion of the CSCH-OD Introductory Training requires attendance at a workshop and successful completion of a mentored assignment within six weeks following the workshop. Associate Membership: Applicants who are eligible for full membership except for the training requirement can be admitted as Associate members until completion of their Introductory workshop and the mentored training which follows, when Full membership is granted. Associate Members have a maximum of 12 months to fulfil this requirement. Applicants must submit a completed membership application form accompanied by supporting documents. Full Members meet the eligibility and training requirements and have all membership privileges. Retired Members meet the eligibility and training requirements and have all membership priveleges. Associate Members meet the eligibility requirements and have all privileges except for voting, holding office, acting as chair of a committee, or receiving referrals from the Society. Intern and Resident Members meet eligibility and training requirements. They have all privileges except for voting, holding office, acting as chair of a committee, or receiving referrals from the Society.
Annual dues are $160 for full members, $90 for retired members, $130 for associate membership, and $30 for Intern and Resident membership. Please note that our membership year is January 1st through December 31st. Early bird rate for membership dues is $135 and is available until December 31, 2022.
